Rangers forward rushed to hospital with ‘facial fracture’ after sickening head collision

Danilo, a forward for Rangers, was taken to the hospital earlier today after colliding with Liam Gordon of St Johnstone, suffering a terrifying “facial fracture.”

Midway through their Scottish Premiership encounter, Rangers attacker Danilo and St Johnstone’s Liam Gordon had a head clash, necessitating an ambulance ride to the hospital.

This summer, the 24-year-old Brazilian moved to Ibrox, joining Michael Beale’s team from Feyenoord, the Dutch champions, for an estimated £6 million. In his nine appearances for the Rangers this season, the forward has netted two goals, one of which came at McDiarmid Park against St Johnstone.

At the sixteenth minute, the striker headed his team ahead by diving into the air to beat Gordon to the ball and latch onto a beautiful cross from James Tavernier. But soon after, Danilo and Gordon got into a heated argument, thus it was necessary to remove him from the game.

The Rangers forward had a stretcher ready, but he was able to leave despite suffering a serious facial injury. Gordon of St Johnstone was also substituted right after the match.

Danilo was not present to witness the rest of the game, even though Rangers went on to win 2-0, with Rabbi Matondo scoring their second goal. When making game commentary for Sky Sports, broadcaster Ian Crocker stated: “He’s [Danilo] left the stadium and been taken to hospital, with a suspected compound fracture.”

And Danilo might not be available for Rangers’ upcoming Europa League opener against Real Betis, who they will welcome to Ibrox on Thursday night of next week, due to his injury.
