A progress report on Borna Barisic and Kemar Roofe’s injuries has been given by Rangers manager Philippe Clement.
In the Europa League match against Sparta Prague, neither man participated.
After the ViaPlay Cup quarterfinal matchup with Livingston in September, Roofe has not appeared on the field, and Barisic was limping after the victory over Hibernian last weekend.
Additionally, Clement has updated us on both men’s injuries. “Kemar [Roofe] won’t be available for the weekend. We need to evaluate how he is doing and figure out how to bring him back in the long run next week,” he stated.
“Borna [Barisic] we will see if he can train tomorrow or not.” The Belgian also discussed other Ibrox players who have been sidelined for a while, such as Dujon Sterling, Tom Lawrence, and Jose Cifuentes.
“[Jose] Cifuentes will hopefully train tomorrow with the team – Tom Lawrence and Dujon Sterling will not be available,” he stated.

In the meantime, striker Jan Kuchta of Sparta Prague maintains that their only chance of defeating Rangers in the Europa League was due to an inspired Jack Butland.
Even though they had to rely on their goalkeeper to make a number of excellent saves, especially in the first half, the Ibrox team managed a creditable goalless draw in the Czech Republic.
The Czech international striker Kutcha, who played at rival Slavia Prague in the historic Europa League tie in 2021 where former Rangers star Glen Kamara was subjected to racist taunts, was also guilty of missing opportunities. He anticipates an intense atmosphere at Ibrox in the rematch.
“Disappointment is the feeling after that,” he stated. When you reach this level, you play against teams with elite players and goalkeepers who can make saves.
“Unfortunately, the Rangers goalie made a number of excellent stops. However, we must also accept some of the responsibility for the subpar conclusion. We did in fact fire a few shots directly at him.
