Josh Myers, a rookie center for the Green Bay Packers, hurt his knee during the opening series of the team’s victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday, but it doesn’t look like it will end his season.
Though he expressed regret for the playcall that resulted in the injury, head coach Matt LaFleur allayed concerns that the starting center for the Packers might not return from the injury.

We’ll keep an eye on it, but I don’t think it will end the season, LaFleur stated on Sunday. “In the end, that was a poor playcall on my part; we should have blocked the nickel off the edge. I regret doing that.

On the fourth play from scrimmage, Myers was injured. Bears safety Tashaun Gipson stopped A.J. Dillon after no gain on a run play, coming off the edge. After the play, Myers received care on the field and was checked out in the blue medical tent on the sidelines before returning to the locker room. At the beginning of the second half, the Packers officially declared him out of the game.

Lucas the veteran Patrick took the field for Myers and participated in the remainder of the match. The previous week, while Myers was out with a finger injury, Patrick took over at center.

Myers may be able to return to action in 2021, but he will probably miss more games due to the knee injury.

Myers, an Ohio State second-round selection, has started at center field for the Packers in five of their first six games. He was involved in every offensive snap for the first four starts he made.

Due to injuries, the Packers offensive line is still a jumbled deck, but assistance is on the way. Elgton Jenkins, a pro bowler, recently made a full recovery from an ankle injury, and David Bakhtiari, an All-Pro left tackle, can be taken off the PUP list and back to practice the following week.
