SO SAD: Bengals QB hero is down with knee injury…….

After throwing an incompletion intended for wide receiver Tyler Boyd on a third-and-2 play in the third quarter, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was carted off the field with a knee injury that he later stated he believes will keep him out of the game for the whole season. Burrow clutched his left knee before being loaded onto a cart and taken away, and players from both teams surrounded him to offer support. Burrow was declared out of the game by Cincinnati shortly after the injury.

While Burrow remained mum about the nature of his injury, he tweeted later on Sunday, saying, “See ya next year”.

Burrow’s initial diagnosis, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, is an anterior cruciate ligament tear.

Bengals coach Zac Taylor did not provide a timetable for Burrow’s recovery following his team’s 20-9 loss.

According to Taylor, “the city, the coaches, and the players have all responded to him and all that is equally as important.” “He gives this team energy.” He’s been an excellent player, exactly what we had anticipated he would be, and eventually we’ll get him back. When that occurs is unknown to us.

Prior to leaving the game, Burrow completed 22 of 34 passes for 203 yards and one touchdown.

For Cincinnati, second-year quarterback Ryan Finley took over after veteran Andy Dalton was benched after starting three games in 2017. Finley finished the Bengals’ 20-9 loss by completing three of ten passes for thirty yards and one interception.

After setting records and winning the Heisman Trophy during his final season at LSU, Burrow was selected first overall in the April NFL draft.

Taylor stated, “He demonstrated that he was mentally prepared to go right from the start.” “He’s given us a shot in the majority of these encounters. He made every effort to slow us down in the fourth quarter, but occasionally we haven’t been able to secure the victory. We have a lot of faith in Joe, and we’ll be prepared for his return whenever it occurs.
