ANOTHER SINING: Detroit Lions signing back…….

The former draft choice of the Lions is returning to Detroit following his signing of a free agency contract.

Recalled by the Detroit Lions is linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin. Reeves-Maybin has agreed to terms on a contract that will return him to Detroit, according to a tweet from his agent. The terms were not made public as of Wednesday night.

Reeves-Maybin, who was selected by the Lions in the fourth round of the 2017 draft, spent his first five seasons in Detroit, where he started just 14 games but consistently stood out on special teams. He even received the title of special teams captain for the team in 2021, the first season under Dan Campbell’s leadership.

Reeves-Maybin was a free agent following that season, though, and the Lions probably couldn’t afford to keep him. In comparison to his one-year, $2.4 million contract with Detroit the previous year, he inked a two-year, $7.5 million deal with the Houston Texans.

Reeves-Maybin played 390 special teams snaps for the Texans in one season, which was third most on the team, before being released by Houston just one week ago.

He is a simple choice to replace Chris Board in Detroit after Board inked a big two-year, $6.7 million contract with the Patriots last week. Now that Reeves-Maybin is on board, take a look at the linebacker who has a 2023 contract: Reeves-Maybin, Anthony Pittman, Derrick Barnes, Malcolm Rodriguez, and Alex Anzalone

When Pride of Detroit asked if the Lions should re-sign Reeves-Maybin in a free agent profile back in 2022, 92 percent of fans responded in favor of the team making a deal. Now, after only a year, the fans finally get what they desire.
