RB Leipzig striker set for a trip to London amid indoors medicals

Chelsea is interested in RB Leipzig attacker Benjamin Sesko, but he will encounter competition.

This is according to a Calciomercato report.

According to the Italian newspaper, Chelsea and Arsenal are both interested in signing Benjamin Sesko, and the 20-year-old might cost up to €50 million (£43.5 million).

Manchester City, another of Chelsea’s Premier League opponents, were interested in Sesko before he moved from NK Domzale to Red Bull Salzburg.

According to The Athletic, City were interested in the Slovenian while he was still playing in his own country but were turned down by the player.

Statistics for Benjamin Sesko this time of year
Sesko has had a promising start to his Bundesliga career. He has three goals in seven appearances for Marco Rose’s side.

The Slovenian international has also scored in the Champions League, doing so in Leipzig’s 3-1 victory over Young Boys.

He’s only 20 years old, but he’s already showing a lot of promise. Sesko, who is 6 feet 4 inches tall, appears to be a natural fit for a rugged league like the Premier League.

Sesko may not be at the top of Chelsea’s priority list right now, with the club also interested in Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

However, if they are unable to sign the England international or Victor Osimhen, whom Napoli is unwilling to sell, Sesko might be a viable option.

We believe Chelsea will need to sign a new center-forward at some time because they are not scoring enough goals at Stamford Bridge.

Following their 2-0 defeat to Brentford last Saturday, they have now failed to score at home against the Bees, Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest this season. Mauricio Pochettino’s side also failed to score in a 0-0 draw with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in September. Perhaps Sesko is the solution to their troubles.
