It wasn’t the trade that many had hoped for, but the Detroit Lions acquired WR Donovan Peoples-Jones from the Cleveland Browns for a sixth-round draft pick on Tuesday afternoon, barely one hour before the 2023 NFL Trade Deadline. Following the announcement, Lions GM Brad Holmes spoke with the media about the team’s newest wide receiver.

Holmes spoke briefly about Peoples-Jones and his fit with the team shortly after the trade was completed.
“We’re excited about the kid,” Holmes told reporters shortly after the transaction. “He’s had good production in the past and will fit in well here.” He’s always been a good child. He’s obviously from Michigan, he’s from Detroit, he’s a local. So I think he’ll be overjoyed. I just spoke with the youngster, and he’s excited to get this process started.”
