This is never a good idea for the Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night, but despite their 5-3 record, a new crisis appears to be emerging in the Steelers’ camp.

Wide receiver George Pickens, who struggled against the Tennessee defense, resorted to social media on Friday to vent his concerns, hinting at a potential rift within the Steelers’ receiving corps.

“Free me” Pickens shared a story on Instagram on Friday, with the caption “free me” in the lower right corner and a 19-second animated reaction video.

His posting binge didn’t end there. Soon after, he erased the aforementioned post, as well as all others on his account. Notably, he appeared to unfollow all Steelers-related accounts, including Coach Mike Tomlin, quarterback Kenny Pickett, and the team’s official Instagram account. In addition, he updated his profile photo from a Steelers image to a high school image.

Pickens had a terrible night on Thursday, with only two receptions for a total of minus-1 yard. This came after a game the previous weekend in which he grabbed a 22-yard touchdown pass in a game in which he only had one reception. The 22-year-old’s highlight moment on Thursday night was a magnificent yet out-of-bounds leaping grab in the third quarter.

Pickens appears to be the next promising wide receiver to face issues in Pittsburgh. The Steelers have a history of having difficulty maintaining explosive wideouts, frequently turning to trades and subsequent replacements, creating a cyclical pattern.
