PAINFUL THAN DEALTH: Ravens four special squad are down

In their season opener, the Ravens defeated the Texans.
The Baltimore Ravens were able to sign veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. after a lengthy contract saga with star quarterback Lamar Jackson.

The squad has made the playoffs three of the last four years and has high expectations for this season. However, after Week 1, Baltimore’s path to the playoffs grew far more difficult.

Multiple players were injured during the Ravens’ 25-9 victory over the Houston Texans.

The club is set to face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, but it will be missing a few crucial players.

Cornerback Marlon Humphrey (foot), center Tyler Linderbaum (ankle), tackle Ronnie Stanley (knee), and safety Marcus Williams (pectoral) will be out against the Bengals on Sunday.

J.K. DOBBINS OF THE RAVENS WILL MISS THE REST OF THE SEASON AFTER TEARING ACHILLES AGAINST THE TEXANS.

Humphrey missed the Ravens’ season opener due to an injury.

Mark Andrews also missed last weekend’s game due to a quad ailment. The All-Pro tight end was a full participant in practice on Friday and is questionable for Sunday’s AFC North game.

Despite the fact that the Ravens’ roster has been decimated by injuries after just one game, Jackson isn’t using the setback as an excuse heading into Week 2.

“There are no excuses,” Jackson remarked. “We all have NFL players who are paid to bust their behinds, so it is what it is.” It’s difficult simply because they’re essential players. But we have individuals that are going to step up and lead us out there on the field and perform their jobs.”

Cincinnati has also had its fair share of injuries. Questionable are running back Chris Evans (hamstring), defensive end Joseph Ossai (ankle), and linebacker Markus Bailey (knee).
It’s uncertain whether the Ravens will pursue a veteran running back to replace J.K. Dobbins, who will miss the rest of the season due to an Achilles tear.
