Sad news for Rotherham United

Rotherham United host Ipswich Town in the Championship on Friday night.

Rotherham United welcome 2nd place Ipswich Town for what promises to be a difficult, but exciting game under the lights and in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

The Millers currently sit in 23rd place of the Championship table and have won just the one league game this season, compared to the Tractor Boys who’ve only lost the one, winning nine of their opening 11.

And ahead of tomorrow’s game, Millers boss Matt Taylor has provided an injury update on his side, telling the club:

Another injury blow for Rotherham right now is Jamie Lindsay. The Scot is yet to feature this season after suffering an Achilles injury in pre-season, but Taylor says the 28-year-old is on the mend.

“Jamie is back out on the grass, finally,” said Taylor, who later added:

“He’s got no issues at the moment in that Achilles area, but he’s going at a low-level speed and intensity, so that will start ramping up in the next week or so.”

Rotherham and Ipswich met in the FA Cup last season, with the latter running out as 4-1 winners at Portman Road.

Why Jamie Lindsay won't make the Stoke City clash for Rotherham United and Brooke Norton-Cuffy will

The last league meeting between these two was at Rotherham’s New York Stadium during the 2021/22 League One campaign, with Rotherham winning 1-0 that day.

Rotherham United on the mend

With Rotherham battling relegation, Taylor needs all of his players to be fit and available, especially senior players like Morrison and key ones like Lindsay.

The Scot played a key role last season and his absence in midfield is certainly a blow for Taylor and for the player too, though when we can expect to see him back in action remains to be seen.

Ipswich Town will be a hugely difficult task for Rotherham tomorrow night. But the Millers often have an upset up their sleeve, so it could be an interesting watch.
