RB Leipzig have refuse to give out their super star

RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is unlikely to leave the Red Bull Arena in January despite interest from Chelsea and Arsenal.

That is according to journalist Ben Jacobs, who has been speaking to GiveMeSport.

At the end of October, Italian outlet Calciomercato claimed that AC Milan, Chelsea and Arsenal were all keen on signing Benjamin Sesko and that Leipzig value the Slovenian at around €50m (£43.8m).

He only arrived at Leipzig in the summer but is a young and promising striker.

Benjamin Sesko may not leave RB Leipzig until 2025

According to Jacobs, it is not even a guarantee that Sesko will leave Leipzig next summer.

Discussing the 20-year-old’s future on GiveMeSport, he said: “He only joined Leipzig in 2023, so I think anything in January is going to be extremely difficult.

“I think that even in the summer of 2024, it’s not a guarantee that he will leave Leipzig. It might be in 2025 that Sesko moves somewhere, but January isn’t going to happen, from talking to sources.”

Will Chelsea sign a striker before 2025?

We cannot see Chelsea waiting until 2025 for Sesko or any other striker for that matter. It is a position in their squad that they need to strengthen now.

Last season, the Blues only managed to score 38 goals in 38 Premier League games, which is an abysmal record.

Since then, the club have brought in Nicolas Jackson, who managed to bag a hat-trick last time out against Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the Senegal international is still only 22 years of age and was struggling before his three goals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

If Jackson starts misfiring again, then the club will be left with no choice but to bring in another centre-forward either in January or next summer.

In terms of who Mauricio Pochettino could recruit, Evan Ferguson’s name has recently been mentioned, though you would imagine that he would cost a fortune.

Brighton & Hove Albion already charged Chelsea £115m for Moises Caicedo in the last transfer window (Sky Sports). A talented 19-year-old striker who is on a long-term contract, which expires in 2029, could easily end up costing similar money.
