Why us: Saints gets injury update ahead of bye week

Derek Carr suffers concussion and shoulder injury against Vikings, but he should be back in the lineup after Saints bye week

However, Dobbs has become something of a magic man for the Vikings as he had a brilliant first half against the Saints and that came on the heels of the victory he drove the Vikings to in Week 9 on the road against the Atlanta Falcons.

In addition to being victimized by Dobbs’ big-play ability, the Saints saw Carr go down with a concussion and a shoulder injury in the third quarter. Carr was removed from the game at that point and he was replace by backup Jameis Winston.

Carr had completed 13 of 18 passes for 110 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions at the time of his injury. Winston was able to rally the Saints to some extent, as he completed 13 of 25 passes for 122 yards with 2 TD passes and 2 interceptions. The interceptions came after the Saints had closed the deficit to 8 points, and they prevented the team from mounting a full-fledged comeback.

The Saints have their bye in Week 11, and they will return to action in Week 12 when they face the Falcons in Atlanta. Derek Carr is expected to take the bye week to recover from his injuries, and he should be in good enough shape to play against their long-time rivals.
