Edmonton Oilers’ Dylan Holloway faces extended absence with a knee injury; likely to go on LTIR.
The Edmonton Oilers suffered a setback Tuesday when young winger Dylan Holloway was noticeably absent from practice. Holloway suffered a knee injury after colliding awkwardly with the boards during the second period of Monday’s game against the New York Islanders, according to Jason Gregor of Sports 1440. The incident has raised concerns, and Holloway may be sidelined for a few months as a result.
In a post-practice press conference, Oilers new head coach Kris Knoblauch delivered the unfortunate news that Holloway’s absence will be extended into a longer-term recovery. This is a setback for the promising player, who had been making strides with the Oilers to find his form.
Holloway, a promising young player, has been plagued by injuries since finishing his collegiate career, making this latest setback all the more disappointing. Fans had seen glimpses of his potential on the ice, and his absence will undoubtedly put the team’s depth to the test. The Oilers and their fans are now hoping for a quick and successful recovery for the injured winger.
Holloway had just recently scored his first goal of the season and was starting to come on for Edmonton.
Connor Brown Nearing Return
The Oilers’ good news is that Connor Brown is on his way back. The forward could not confirm whether he would play on Wednesday, but he said he feels fine. Knoblauch stated that they would test the knee at practice, but Brown took an extended run and appears to be able to play.
The Edmonton Oilers take on the Seattle Kraken in an attempt to make it three wins in a row. Brown will receive a $3.25 million payout if he plays, as part of the signing bonus he signed this summer.
