Jalen Harris is signed by the Commanders off the Bears practice squad.
Jalen Harris, a defensive end from the Chicago Bears practice squad, was signed by the Washington Commanders on Monday. Harris, the son of former Bear Sean Harris, was signed as an undrafted free agent by Chicago out of the University of Arizona and has spent the entire season on the team’s practice squad.
When defensive end Efe Obada was placed on injured reserve earlier today, Washington had a need at the position.
Harris (6’4″, 257) had five tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble for the Bears during the preseason, and now he’ll get a chance to play with the 4-7 Commanders and head coach Ron Rivera, who was the Bears’ Defensive Quality Control coach for two of Sean Harris’ years in Chicago.
