IvanToney to leave present club for…….

Gabby Agbonlahor has now shared his opinion that either Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur would be perfect for Ivan Toney in January.

Agbonlahor was speaking on talkSPORT this morning and thought Toney would score a silly amount of goals at either club.

Of course, the striker has been linked with almost every top Premier League club ahead of January.

However, Agbonlahor thought either Chelsea or Tottenham could be the perfect fit for Toney if he does leave Brentford in the near future.

He said: “Ivan Toney, for me, Spurs or Chelsea.

“If Chelsea can work a deal, maybe a ten-year contract, they look to do their contracts long, but I could see him at Chelsea.

“I don’t think Jackson’s the finished article that Chelsea need and Ivan Toney, imagine the goals he’d score at Spurs or Chelsea, top player.”

It remains to be seen if either club would be willing to shell out £60m for a striker in January, an asking price that may now have risen.

Both Spurs and Chelsea are undergoing squad rebuilds, and funds may be prioritised elsewhere.

Perhaps Chelsea would consider that a striker is the next important piece of their puzzle.

West Ham United are now being linked with a £30m move for Armando Broja in January – one that could free up important funds.

And there’s no doubt that Toney would have a huge impact at Stamford Bridge.

Moreover, Tottenham could also use the boost a player of Toney’s calibre would bring mid-way through the season.

Son Heung-Min is doing an admirable job in a central role under Ange Postecoglou, but there are few options beyond.

Both Richarlison and Brennan Johnson look better suited on the wing, and Son is often managing minor issues.

Toney is bound to be one of the most mentioned names in January, a player who would be an excellent signing for a number of sides.

Arsenal are often mentioned in the race too, and both Chelsea and Tottenham fans may enjoy Agbonlahor’s omission of their suitability.
