What Auburn players are out or questionable for the Arkansas game?
Before the Arkansas game, Auburn is about as healthy as it has been all season.
The Auburn Tigers have had their fair share of injuries this season, but the problem appears to have passed them by for the time being.
With only one questionable player, the Tigers have as clean a sheet as can be expected at this point in the season.
Avery Jones, a senior offensive lineman who transferred from East Carolina to Auburn this offseason, has been the Tigers’ primary center. Jones suffered a leg injury during Auburn’s game against Mississippi State.
Hugh Freeze, the head coach at Auburn, believes Jones will be available against Arkansas, but only in a limited capacity.
“Yeah, I’m not sure yet.” I haven’t discussed it with Robbie (Stewart) or the medical staff yet. We won’t know Avery’s condition until Wednesday or Thursday. Connor (Lew) will continue to play. I don’t think he’ll be ready to play 60-70 snaps after missing the last three weeks, especially since it’s a lower leg injury. So, even if he is available, it will be a shared responsibility.”
Connor Lew, a freshman from Kennesaw, Ga., has taken Jones’ place and done well. Lew’s performance has helped to mitigate the impact of Jones’ departure.
This season, Auburn’s offensive line play has improved, and it is even better when at full strength.
