Terrible injury for miami heat: player rush to hospital

Erik Spoelstra of the Miami Heat provides an update on Bam Adebayo’s injury.
Erik Spoelstra, coach of the Miami Heat, says they will evaluate Bam Adebayo after he receives treatment in New York today.
There is no timetable for when Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo will return to the lineup.

After Adebayo missed Wednesday’s win over the Cleveland Cavaliers due to a bruised hip, coach Erik Spoelstra provided an update. It was only his second missed game of the season.

“It’s not a lingering thing, he’s padded,” said Spoelstra. “He just took a hard fall in the Chicago game in the same exact spot where he had to miss a game earlier in the season.” In shootaround, he could do some things but not jump.”Heat injury updates: Latest news on Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler, Goran Dragic ahead of Game 2 | Sporting News

The Heat won their second straight game and ninth in a row without Adebayo. Kyle Lowry led the way with 28 points, while rookie Jaime Jaquez added 22. It was his fourth game in a row with at least 10 points.

When the Heat arrive in New York today, they will re-evaluate Adebayo. They play the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. It’s a rematch of the Heat’s victory in the Eastern Conference semifinals last year.

“He was doing treatment around the clock (Wednesday),” Spoelstra said. “He’ll do it on Thanksgiving and we’ll just see.”
