Steve Sarkisian provides Texas Monday injury updates
Two players were listed as questionable by the Longhorns head coach.
AUSTIN, Texas — During TSteve Sarkisian’s Monday press conference, the Texas Longhorns head coach provided injury updates heading into Saturday’s Big 12 Championship game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
Two players were listed as questionable by Sarkisian — senior cornerback Ryan Watts and sophomore nickel back Austin Jordan. Watts suffered a back injury on Friday against Texas Tech on the first play from scrimmage and did not return. Jordan is the third-string nickel back behind senior Jahdae Barron and sophomore Jaylon Guilbeau.
Junior wide receiver Xavier Worthy is “good to go” following a leg injury sustained against the Red Raiders that left him limping to the locker room before halftime. Worthy returned in the second half, however, catching an eight-yard pass and creating explosive punt returns of 15 yards and 24 yards.
Kevin Love beefed with Kelly Olynyk over a bad injury
Redshirt freshman Maalik Murphy practiced on Monday, according to Sarkisian, after suffering a freak injury on the sideline to his non-throwing shoulder on the 95-yard kickoff return touchdown by senior running back Keilan Robinson to open the second half.
