Everton fired a complaint to the Premier League about the points deduction

Everton have confirmed they have submitted their appeal to the Premier League’s 10-point deduction.

An independent commission handed down the punishment last month after the club were found guilty of breaking financial rules.

A club statement said: Everton Football Club has today lodged with the Chair of the Premier League’s Judicial Panel its appeal of the decision by a Premier League Commission to impose a 10-point deduction on the Club. An Appeal Board will now be appointed to hear the case.

The severity of the punishment sparked concern within the club, leading to mass supporter protests and support among the region’s politicians and has plunged Everton into the relegation zone after a promising series of performances had pushed the club towards midtable.
