Pittsburgh Steelers Key Man Might Not Make It After……..

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost their starting guard against the Cardinals.

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers offense was hit hard with injuries during the first half of their Week 13 game against the Arizona Cardinals. After quarterback Kenny Pickett left with an ankle injury, the team announced offensive guard Isaac Seumalo is questionable to return due to a shoulder injury.

Seumalo left on a goalline stand in the second quarter. On the same play Pickett limped off the field, Seumalo left with trainers and was taken in for evaluation. After working with trainers, he was ruled questionable to return to the game.

Without Seumalo, the Steelers will turn to backup Nate Herbig as their left guard. Their only remaining backup interior lineman is rookie Spencer Anderson, who is listed as an offensive tackle but took snaps at all five line positions during training camp.

Chuks Okorafor is also available as a backup lineman.

All Steelers will provide updates on Seumalo’s injury as more information becomes available.

UPDATE: Seumalo has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Steelers Sign Former Penn State QB Trace McSorley

The Pittsburgh Steelers add Trace McSorley to their practice squad.

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are adding a quarterback to their locker room, signing former Penn State star Trace McSorley to their practice squad, the team announced.

McSorley, 28, spent time with the New England Patriots during the summer but was cut prior to the 53-man roster deadline. He then signed with the Chicago Bears practice squad for a short time this season.

McSorely will be the team’s third quarterback as they wait on the return of Kenny Pickett. Pickett is set to miss 2-4 weeks after undergoing ankle surgery, leaving Mitch Trubisky as the starter with Mason Rudolph as the backup.

The Steelers can elevate McSorley to the active/inactive roster for up to three games and utilize him as the third quarterback. He does not need to be active in order to dress, and can enter the game if Trubisky and Rudolph are unable to finish.

The former sixth-round pick out of Penn State was originally drafted by the Baltimore Ravens and has spent time with the Arizona Cardinals, Patriots and Bears.
