Nottingham Forest loanee stole the show as Wycombe earned progression in the EFL Trophy.

As Forest were knocked out of the competition, the Chairboys reached the last 16 of the competition with a win over Fulham under-21s.

Forest youngster Taylor was in scintillating form after being handed a start by Matt Bloomfield, earning Wycombe a place in the next round.

The Reds allowed the 19-year-old to join the League One outfit during the summer after an impressive loan spell with Burton last season.

Forest gem Taylor stars in EFL clash

Forest talent Taylor has been in decent form for Wycombe during the 2023/24 campaign.

He’s scored three times in the league and has been forced to bounce back from an injury issue too.

Last night he was handed another start by Bloomfield and rewarded his manager’s faith with a couple of goals.

His team won 3-2 on the night as they were made to work by one of the under-21 outfits who progressed to the knockout stages.

Wycombe do have bigger fish to fry and now, Forest gem Taylor will hope to help the team arrest a run of seven games without a win in the league.

Taylor can star in the future

Taylor has become a regular call-up to the Northern Ireland squad in recent times.

He was praised by the national media last month and he looks set for a very bright future in the game.

Back in September, he was called ‘fantastic’ by Belfast Live after a performance for the Northern Ireland under-21s.

The challenge for Forest starlet Taylor right now is to continue adapting to men’s football with Wycombe.

He proved that he’s outgrown academy games during Forest’s run to the FA Youth Cup Final during the 2021/22 campaign.

Last season, he scored six goals for Burton and he’s a player who has the physique for men’s football.
