sad news for detroit lion coach….

4 Detroit Lions players to keep an eye on in Week 2 against the Commanders

In Week 1, the Detroit Lions fell short of a comeback win against the Philadelphia Eagles, losing 38-35. If the offence had played a cleaner game and the defence had better neutralised Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts as a runner, they could have gone up 2-0 against the 1-0 Washington Commanders on Sunday.

The Lions, on the other hand, will be looking to win their second of two home games to begin the 2022 season. Early point spreads indicate a competitive game, so it may simply be a matter of the Lions finding a way to close a game–something that has happened in 18 games during head coach Dan Campbell’s tenure. Last season, they suffered six one-point defeats.year, with four by a field goal or less. Week 1 was also obviously a field goal margin loss.

St. Brown capped off his rookie season with eight catches for 64 yards and a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. He’s on a couple of record streaks that could be extended further against Washington on Sunday.

Apparently, rumours of “The Sun God’s” demise when T.J. Hockenson and D’Andre Swift were healthy were greatly exaggerated. St. Brown had a target share of more than 32% against the Eagles, and even if that improves slightly moving forward, he is the clear

Detroit Lions freefall continues with 7th straight loss: 'It's sad' favourite to lead the Lions in receptions this season.

However, against the Commanders on Sunday, St. Brown has the opportunity to etch his name further into NFL and team history.
