The Packers trailed 27-3 at halftime after struggling on both sides of the ball.
And LaFleur took exception to a question in the post-game press conference after being asked what caused his team’s first-half meltdown.
The Packers coach responded: “I mean, we sucked Pete. We got our a** kicked.
“If I knew, it wouldn’t have happened…That’s a BS question, man.
“I don’t think anybody’s feeling sorry for us. We’ve got to get better.
“We’ve got to look at what we’re asking our guys to do. Everything wasn’t good enough, so, the plan wasn’t good enough.
“That was humiliating, being down 27-3 or whatever it was at half.”
Fans reacted quickly to the awkward exchange, and video of it quickly went viral.
One fan replied, “It’s a perfectly reasonable question.”
“He should be very embarrassed,” said another. Simply put, what the Packers are filming is unacceptable! We should all brace ourselves for a long season and recognise that the only team we can clearly beat is the Bears.”
“This dude is always getting mad at reporters for his own failures,” a third added.
“At least he stood up,” a fourth countered. We sucked.”
The Packers are now 2-2 in the new NFL season.
In Week 5, they will look to bounce back against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.
