The Tennessee Titans take on the Houston Texans for the first time this season this Sunday and both teams will begin their week of preparation with a lengthy injury list.
The Tennessee Titans head into a Week 15 gamer against the Houston Texans off one of the biggest upsets of the NFL season and while the optimism is high, Wednesday was a reminder that this team is incredibly short handed.
The team released their first injury report of Week 15 on Wednesday and while the session was only a walkthrough, it still gives us a window into the status of multiple players.
The biggest news of the day was cornerback Kristian Fulton going on injured reserve. Fulton was expected to be out for multiple weeks after getting injured against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14, but an IR designation was still unexpected. Defensive lineman Kyle Peko was also place on IR.
There was a long list of players who were listed as non-participants including Denico Autry, Aaron Brewer, Jack Gibbens, Kyle Philips, Kevin Rader, Jeffery Simmons, Josh Whyle and Teair Tart. Tart was listed as non-injury related.
Five other players were listed as limited. Daniel Brunskill, Will Levis, Sean Murphy-Bunting, K’Von Wallace and DeAndre Hopkins were the group with Hopkins being listed as a rest day.
While there are many players listed who would be a great loss if they were to miss Sunday’s game, it is not quite time to worry. As a reminder, the session on Wednesday was a walkthrough and the Titans just played on Monday night, so odds are the coaches were being extremely conservative with participation.
The Houston Texans have injury concerns of their own which includes starting quarterback C.J. Stroud dealing with a concussion. With Stroud, there is also edge rusher Will Anderson, linebacker Blake Cashman, wide receiver Nico Collins, offensive tackle George Fant, cornerback Tavierre Thomas and offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil dealing with injuries. All were non-participants in Wednesday’s practice.
