Latest News: Coach Mike McDaniel updated on Miami Dolphins wide receiver

Tyreek Hill, the Miami Dolphins wide receiver, might still make it to Sunday’s game despite missing all three practices this week due to an ankle injury. Coach Mike McDaniel decided to keep Hill out of practice to allow more time for his ankle to heal. Whether he plays against the New York Jets on Sunday will be a last-minute decision.

Hill is a key player for the Dolphins, leading the NFL in receiving yards and aiming for a season goal of 2,000 yards. He has 97 receptions for 1,542 yards and 12 touchdowns in the current season. Although he missed three consecutive practices, Coach McDaniel emphasized that it’s not necessarily a cause for concern.

The Dolphins are taking a cautious approach to Hill’s injury, considering his long-term well-being. If Hill is unable to play, Jaylen Waddle is expected to step up as the No. 1 receiver for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. McDaniel highlighted that decisions about Hill’s availability will be based on discussions with the experienced player, taking into account his career and input from the team’s trainers.

Hill had an impressive performance with nine receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown in the previous game against the Jets. If he plays, the Dolphins hope he can maintain his trademark speed and agility. Hill, despite playing with significant pain in the last game, expressed his determination not to miss any games and to contribute to the team in any way possible.

Currently, Hill holds 1,542 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns for the season, putting him on track to potentially break the NFL record for receiving yards in a season. However, his availability for Week 15 remains uncertain pending discussions with the coaching staff and evaluation of his injury.
