Two Oklahoma Offensive Lineman Committed to……

On Tuesday, a different former offensive lineman for Oklahoma acquired a new residence. In 2023, Savion Byrd, a left guard who started four games and participated in eight others, declared his intention to attend SMU.

Byrd will team up with Nate Anderson, a fellow OU offensive lineman who this week also committed to SMU. Byrd, a previous top recruit from Duncanville, Texas, lost his starting position on the offensive line this season to Cayden Green, who also transferred out of Norman. With Byrd joining SMU, the Sooners will need to make a big push through the portal in order to replace the players that have died at the line of scrimmage.. Left tackle Walter Rouse and right guard McKade Mettauer will run out of eligibility after the Alamo Bowl, and center Andrew Raym and right tackle Tyler Guyton opted out of the bowl game to prepare for the 2024 NFL Draft. Jacob Sexton already replaced Guyton at right tackle, and is poised to slide back to left tackle next year.
