Unai Emery and Aston Villa Finalising plans on January transfer window

BirminghamLive’s Aston Villa transfer news shows that the team’s owners are ready to bring in new players in January, according to the head coach.

Unai Emery concedes that it could be difficult for Aston Villa to “clearly” boost their roster in January, but he also stated that owners Nassif Sawiris and Wes Edens are ready to make additions.

Prior to the window opening, Villa’s president of football operations, Monchi, has been working hard to finalize preparations with the team’s recruiting staff. This provides Emery a chance to bolster the team following their strong start to the season. Villa, who have won 12 of their first 17 league games this season, may take the lead in the standings if they defeat Sheffield United on Friday (8 p.m.).

Alex Moreno’s arrival last season had a seismic effect on Emery’s team, and as Danny Ings moved for West Ham, Jhon Duran was also brought in. When asked about Villa’s intentions for the January transfer window, Emery acknowledged that the team has to be shrewd in whatever transactions they make.

“They [the club owners] are very ambitious and they are very excited,” Emery stated. “What we are doing is enjoyable for them. We must possess intelligence and wisdom.

“We need to handle some changes and work to strengthen certain areas, but we have very excellent players in the team. We will be extremely picky because it is difficult to make improvements or changes.

“We have the ability to take action. If we can persuade them, the owners would be willing to sign certain players. We’re also attempting to figure out how to handle some members quitting the team.

“We are going to analyse each situation with the players we have in the squad and with the players we can maybe get.”
