Bengals’ WR Tyler Boyd Puts the Steelers on Blast prior to Critical Week 16 Showdown

This week’s animosity will undoubtedly be on full show following some harsh remarks made by both clubs to the media.

Over the past 20 years, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers have developed a special rivalry, with Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati’s standout receiver, playing a special role in it. Boyd played collegiately at the University of Pittsburgh and was reared in Clairton, Pennsylvania (less than half an hour southeast of the Steel City). He has spent his whole NFL career with Cincinnati since he was selected in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. It’s going to be uncomfortable when Boyd steps into the drama between these two teams.

 

Tyler Boyd Takes Aim at his Local Team

Pittsburgh’s performance has definitely declined following a bright start to the year. The squad has lost four out of five games and is gradually dropping out of the wild card race after their outstanding defense carried them through the first half of the season. The offense has entirely collapsed. Wide receivers Diontae Johnson and George Pickens of Pittsburgh have frequently let off loud and theatrical tantrums in the locker room and on the sidelines throughout the losing streak.

The main problem, though, is that there have been several occasions when both receivers have been called for putting in little effort on crucial plays, suggesting that the dramatics have carried over to a lack of effort on the field. Boyd expressed his views on the subject at a press conference on Thursday afternoon.

Boyd stated, “It just shows the lack of camaraderie that’s over there.” “I saw a video of [Pickens] using a pick, and it seemed like he wasn’t attempting to pursue it.” .. Your genuine colors will come forth when things aren’t going well. I prefer to play the same role every week, regardless of how things are going for me.

Talk like these obviously didn’t make him popular in the Pittsburgh locker room, even when there is proof to back up charges. After hearing what Boyd had to say, gifted rookie cornerback Joey Porter Jr. resolved to exact revenge on the seasoned receiver.
