Toronto Raptors Forward Has Left

Before the trade deadline on February 8th, the Philadelphia 76ers are anticipated to be among the clubs interested in Toronto Raptors forward OG Anunoby.

The 76ers of Philadelphia are the most recent team to surface in trade rumors involving OG Anunoby.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Anunoby and Zach LaVine are both guys to “keep an eye on” as possible 76ers targets and players Philadelphia has expressed interest in.

After trading James Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers early in the season, the 76ers seem prepared to make another move this year. In exchange for many first-round selections, Philadelphia is anticipated to attempt to consummate a deal before the trade deadline of February 8.

What the 76ers might be prepared to part with in order to get Anunoby before his summer free agency begins is unknown. With the exception of Tyrese Maxey, who would be invincible in trade negotiations, Philadelphia lacks many young, talented players. However, the wages of Robert Covington, Nicholas Batum, and Marcus Morris, who are all eligible for trade as soon as December 30 in a multi-player transaction, are same for the 76ers.

The 76ers’ potential to pursue Anunoby in free agency should Philadelphia decide to clear cap space this summer complicates this scenario. The 76ers may decide not to pursue that course, but they could free up about $40 million in salary space this offseason to give Anunoby a near-max contract while retaining contracts for Maxey and Joel Embiid.

It is thought that the Raptors are more likely to transfer Pascal Siakam than Anunoby at the trade deadline since Toronto has not yet shown that the team is prepared to move Anunoby. Nevertheless, given that a number of clubs are reportedly interested in Toronto’s All-Defense forward, the Raptors may find a deal that is too good to refuse in a bidding war.
