Help on the way? Bengals guard Alex Redmond back from four-game suspension
Some help is on the way for the struggling Cincinnati Bengals offensive line.
Guard Alex Redmond returned to the team on Tuesday. Redmond was serving a four-game suspension for violating the league’s policy for performance-enhancing drugs.
The Bengals have been granted a roster exemption by the NFL for up to one week. During the weeklong exemption period, the Bengals can active Redmond at any time. The exemption ends on Oct. 7
Redmond started 15 games at right guard last year. He allowed three sacks and 40 pressures in 2018. He’ll add depth to an offensive line that’s struggled mightily through four games. Cincinnati’s O-line has given up 19 sacks and has contributed to the worst rushing attack in the league.
The UCLA product was a 2016 undrafted signee by the Bengals. He’s played in 20 career games.
