Ameen Al-Dakhil will “soon want more clarity” from manager Vincent Kompany over his job at Turf Moor, but he is not considering leaving Burnley during the January transfer window.
According to L’Avenir, which Voetbal Nieuws reported, Burnley doesn’t need to worry about the center-back just yet.
According to the newspaper, Al-Dakhil has been less visible at the club lately, which has led to mounting concerns about him currently in Belgium.
For the first ten games of the season, he was a regular under Vincent Kompany. However, things took a turn for the worst starting on the eleventh, when he was benched once, was left out of the starting lineup seven times, and made only one substitute appearance.
Given that he was supposed to be a part of Domenico Tedesco’s plans for Euro 2024, it is alarming back home that he seems to have lost his position under the Belgian manager.
He has previously called up the defense several times for the Red Devils, but if he stays out of the picture going ahead, he couldn’t take the chance.
Naturally, this has given rise to some conjecture that he would try to move on, but according to L’Avenir, the 21-year-old “is not thinking about a winter departure” from Burnley at this time.
Although it appears that he is prepared to fight for his spot at Turf Moor, they do state that the player “will soon want more clarity from Kompany” regarding his role in the team.
To put it plainly, the consensus is that he will be looking for a showdown with the Burnley manager to see if he still has faith in him or if it would be preferable to obtain experience somewhere else, especially with Euro 2024 in the rearview mirror.
He will look to have those conversations as soon as possible, and if he doesn’t get the playing time he desires, this might make him a name to watch in the upcoming weeks.
