Tyreek Hill, a wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, had a frightening experience on Wednesday when his house caught fire. Everyone is relieved that Hill and his family are safe, including Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who shared his thoughts on the incident after a team practice.
According to Alanis Thames of Yahoo Sports, Tagovailoa stated, “I think that would be difficult for, not just my teammates, but for anyone in general to be going through what Tyreek is going through right now.”
“It’s important, in my opinion, that his family is safe. His family members are doing well. He’s also rather good. I realize it seems a little corny, but some of those similar household items may be replaced. All that matters to me is that many of his family members are safe.
The fire happened in the midst of the Dolphins’ preparations for a crucial Week 18 game against the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen. The AFC East division championship will be awarded to the victor of that contest. The Dolphins have an opportunity to end Buffalo’s reign in the AFC East this coming Sunday. The Bills have won the division in each of the last three seasons.
The Bills’ hopes of qualifying for the postseason will also be greatly endangered if Miami prevails in that game. Furthermore, the Dolphins, who lost to Buffalo on the road in Week 4 by a score of 48–20, will get their just desserts if they defeat the Bills. In that game, Hill was limited to just 58 receiving yards.
In addition, the Dolphins hope to bounce back from a devastating road loss to the Baltimore Ravens, 56-19, back in Week 17. With 76 receiving yards in that game, Hill led Miami, but he was only able to catch half of the 12 targets and failed to find the touchdown zone. With 112 receptions and 158 targets this season, the quick wide receiver has 1,717 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.
