Burnley Adds a Forward to their Squad

After scoring 11 goals for AFC Fylde in the first half of the season, Lackey joins Burnley. The player will take advantage of the most recent chance to advance her growth.

Burnley manager Rebecca Sawiuk added Lackey to her team and stated, “Ginny’s a great talent, a good person, she has settled into the group really well.” She can locate pockets of space in really confined spaces and is a very creative striker and finisher. She seems to have been a part of our group socially and psychologically for the entire season, which is rather amazing for someone to walk in and blend in.

“We’ve been observing her and how she fits in with midfielders, how she connects with wide players, and forwards. The players have quickly developed relationships with her, and everyone is really excited to have her at Burnley.”

Although Lackey has not yet played at the senior level for her parent club, Manchester City, her career is headed in the right route, and she may leave her impact while playing for Burnley.

Newcastle United, the top of the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division, is the team that the forward is joining, Burnley.
