Tennessee Vols best signing in recent recruiting history

The Vols are still moving in the right direction. They defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, one of their nine victories this season. The Vols defeated Iowa 35-0 despite their defense ranking in the top five in many key statistical categories. This was one year after the team finished 11-2 in 2022 and won the Orange Bowl over the Clemson Tigers. The Vols are among the first teams that spring to mind for the 2024 season, with the College Football Playoff Poll now consisting of twelve teams.

FAN DUEL: ODDS FOR THE 2024 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP +1200 LSU, +1500 Ole Miss, +1500 Florida State, +1800 Notre Dame, +2500 Penn State, +2500 Texas A&M, +3000 Clemson, +3000 USC, +3000 Oklahoma, +4000 Tennessee, +5000; Georgia, +400 Alabama, +550 Ohio State, +700 Texas, +850 Michigan, +1000 Oregon Nico Iamaleava, the quarterback for Tennessee, is getting more and more attention. In his first career start against Iowa in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, the 2023 signee scored four touchdowns to lead the Vols to a decisive victory over a top-5 college football defense.

The excitement was already growing because Iamaleava is the best-rated quarterback Tennessee has signed in recent recruiting history, but after his first performance, 2024 expectations are rather high. Iamaleava’s potential with head coach Josh Heupel’s quick-paced system excites him, and it appears that the national media shares this sentiment.
