Aston Villa signed a new player

Aston Villa is no stranger to a high-profile transfer acquisition, as everyone knows. Youri Tielemans, Clement Lenglet, Moussa Diaby, Nicolo Zaniolo, and Pau Torres were among the players Emery brought to the West Midlands-based team during the summer transfer window.

When January rolls around, the Villans’ drive appears to have paid off as they are now a strong contender for the championship. Journalist Dean Jones has said that Aston Villa may be better off rekindling their past interest in Arsenal playmaker Emile Smith-Rowe given their newfound prominence.

Villa made a few approaches for Smith Rowe last year, and if that interest is still brewing, now would be the perfect time to go back and give it another go, he told GIVEMESPORT. It seems likely that Arsenal will try to make money off of someone who isn’t a must-have for the starting lineup. Smith Rowe is an excellent player who possesses excellent application and attitude. It seems like a great addition for Aston Villa.”

Their attention has also been drawn to Juventus’s Samuel Iling-Junior, a winger who might be available for as cheap as £17 million. An added benefit is that he is rumored to be eager to leave the Old Lady in pursuit of a fresh challenge. This month, the Spaniard will also be focused on finding Ollie Watkins some competition in the attacking midfield, and a recent source indicates that he is now eager to bring a successful goal scorer to Villa Park.

Aston Villa is reportedly keen to approve a deal to capture Lille attacker Jonathan David this month. David is also drawing interest from Premier League powerhouse Manchester United, according to Football Transfers. According to reports, the Canada international is eager to leave the Ligue 1 team and his transfer may be approved in the upcoming weeks.

The 23-year-old is thought to be set on a move to the English top division, so Serie A powerhouse AC Milan may also be interested in signing him. Meanwhile, former suitors Arsenal, who competed with Lille for his signature back in 2020, are no longer interested in bringing him to the Emirates Stadium.

David, who has amassed 24 games this season across all competitions, has 10 goals and six assists, earning him the nickname “killer instinct” from former Canada manager John Herdman (David statistics – Transfermarkt).

The Brooklyn-born striker, who can score goals with ease, can be a big addition for Aston Villa as they continue to chase the championship.
