The Burnley duo have struggled for game time for much of the campaign, with Benson making just five appearances in all competitions this term.
This is despite the fact he was a crucial asset last term and scored a goal at Blackburn Rovers which allowed them to secure the Championship league title.
Before his appearance at Everton last month, the Belgian hadn’t been included in a Premier League matchday squad since September, reinforcing the length of time he had been frozen out for.
Since making that appearance against the Toffees, he has been left out of all league matchday squads and wasn’t in the squad for their FA Cup game against Tottenham Hotspur either.
With this in mind, a departure can’t be ruled out for the winger before the end of the month, with the player likely to be keen to win a decent amount of game time between now and the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
Zaroury is another player who has been the victim of the Clarets’ summer business, despite how promising he is.
Unlike Benson, he did play at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the FA Cup, but he has also been frozen out for much of the season by Vincent Kompany, making just eight competitive appearances this term.
He may be another player who’s on the prowl for a move away from Turf Moor this month
Hull Live believes Benson is more likely to join than Zaroury.
This is perhaps due to the report that the Tigers have a verbal agreement in place to recruit Benson for the remainder of the campaign.
Southampton have also been linked with a move for him.
However, it seems as though the 26-year-old won’t be making the switch to St Mary’s this month.
There are plenty of reasons why both players could be eager to join.
Firstly, Hull are in the promotion mix and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them finish in the top six at the end of the season, potentially giving Benson and Zaroury an opportunity to record another promotion on his CV.
As well as this, they would probably get a decent amount of game time and would be playing an attractive brand of football under Liam Rosenior.
And with the Tigers set to bring Fabio Carvalho in, they certainly mean business.
