Alan Hutton, a former full-back for Aston Villa, is joining us as our exclusive columnist. He will share his opinions on the most talked-about topics at Villa Park every week.
The “absolutely ideal” quiet surrounding a possible Douglas Luiz transfer from Aston Villa in January has delighted Alan Hutton, he has admitted.
The 25-year-old has started all but one of Villa’s first 20 Premier League games this season, making him an essential member of Unai Emery’s squad. Nevertheless, despite his impressive play, questions about his future have permitted.
Although Luiz has been linked to Arsenal on multiple occasions in the past (ESPN, November 27), no team has attempted to sign Luiz this month in the first few days of the January transfer window.
Like the majority of Aston Villa fans, Hutton hopes the 25-year-old stays with the team past the end of January, but he also acknowledged that a new contract for Luiz would be “ideal” for Emery’s team in order to secure his future.
“I hope it remains that way,” Hutton stated to Villa News
The supporters of Aston Villa won’t want to hear any kind of rumors about Douglas Luiz leaving because he’s been a key player in the team’s success this season.
They will always be there because of the way he is playing. In football, that is just the way it is. Clubs will be keeping an eye on him because he is still young and has a lot of football left in him.
It would be great if Villa could secure him a long-term contract going forward, so they would be covered whether he moves or not. However, losing a player like that is never ideal, particularly given their current situation.
The rumors regarding Douglas Luiz’s departure will not sit well with Aston Villa supporters, as he has been instrumental in the team’s success this season.
His style of play ensures that they will always be present. That’s just the way it is in football. Because he is still young and has a lot of football left in him, clubs will be watching him closely.
To ensure they are covered whether he moves or not, it would be fantastic if Villa could get him a long-term contract. But losing a player like that is never ideal, especially considering their current circumstances.
In other Aston Villa news, Micah Richards was quick to criticize Jhon Duran for his “slow” performance in the FA Cup match against Middlesbrough.
