According to NBA insider Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, the Toronto Raptors are “on the verge” of trading Pascal Siakam.
The Indiana Pacers, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and Detroit Pistons are interested in acquiring Siakam, who becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Siakam is averaging 22.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks this season while shooting 52.5% from the field, 30.8% from beyond the arc and 75.4% from the free-throw line. The two-time All-Star is making $37.9 million.
The Raptors traded OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn to the New York Knicks for RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley. Toronto is only 15-23. They are in 12th place in the Eastern Conference standings and building around Scottie Barnes.
Siakam has career averages of 17.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 blocks. He won the 2018-19 Most Improved Player of the Year Award and helped the Raptors win their first championship in franchise history in 2019 over the Warriors in six games.
The Raptors drafted Siakam with the 27th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. He’s the only player left from the 2019 champinoship team.
Siakam is sixth in Raptors history in games, fifth in minutes, fifth in field goals, eighth in 3-point field goals, fifth in free throws, sixth in offensive rebounds, third in defensive rebounds, third in total rebounds, fifth in assists, 10th in steals, ninth in blocks, fifth in points, second in triple-doubles, sixth in points per game, ninth in player efficiency rating, seventh in offensive win shares, second in defensive win shares, fifth in win shares and fourth in value over replacement player.
