The Philadelphia Eagles are leaving early in the NFL playoffs after falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 32-9 in a lopsided game during the wild card round.
Philadelphia displayed much of the same in a game when many anticipated the Eagles to finally turn things around after losing five of their previous six games after a 10-1 start: a bland offense without a distinct identity and a defense devoid of consistency and fundamental playmaking.
In the most important game of the season, the secondary missed a number of tackles, which allowed backup receivers like Trey Palmer and David Moore to gouge them for long scores.
During the news conference after the game, head coach Nick Sirianni stated, “Obviously we were in a big slide.” “Whenever that occurs, I start by examining myself. I also didn’t do well enough. We obviously lost today and the previous six games. And it seemed as though you were stuck in a rut.And we are all like that. We must examine ourselves in the mirror, come to terms with it, and keep searching for answers and solutions.
