New York jets re-sign Bryce Huff

First things first: Bryce Huff should be re-signed by the NY Jets this offseason. For the better part of the last 20 years, this team has been looking for a standout pass rusher. They appear to have at last located one in Huff.

For the last two seasons, the former undrafted free agent has been among the NFL’s best effective pass rushers; in 2023, the sack totals finally followed. Huff recorded the most sacks by a Jets edge rusher in a decade this season, finishing with a career-high 10.0.

It makes sense that the Jets would do everything in their power to hang onto a talented 25-year-old pass rusher. Regretfully, there are more variables at work, which has many people thinking Huff will exercise his free agency.

Once more, the Jets must not do that. He ought to receive the compensation he is due. That does not imply that it will, though. Jets supporters need to begin preparing for the worst.

This offseason, Huff is going to be among the most sought-after players available. According to Pro Football Focus, the former Memphis star will get a three-year, $45 million contract, which is identical to what the Jets offered Carl Lawson a couple years prior.
