It didn’t take long for Amorion Walker to find a new home.

Six days after submitting his name to the NCAA transfer portal, the Michigan defensive back committed to play for the University of Mississippi in 2024. Walker made the announcement Wednesday, shortly after a public announcement saying he entered the portal.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Walker has two years of eligibility remaining. Under revised NCAA rules, he would be able to play immediately.

The Ponchatoula, La., came to Michigan as a three-star prospect and played both ways as a true freshman in 2022, catching one pass in six games. Walker moved to cornerback full-time ahead of 2023, totaling three tackles in six games.

Walker had a scholarship offer from Ole Miss out of high school. It remains unclear as to which side of the ball he’ll play in Oxford

The Wolverines had seven scholarship players enter the NCAA transfer portal in the latest window. Running back Capers “CJ” Stokes (Charlotte), defensive back Cam Calhoun (Utah) and receiver Darrius Clemons (Oregon State) have since found new schools.
