Throughout the 2023 season, the Miami Dolphins defense alternated between a slow start and a dismal conclusion due to injuries.
Miami played well enough to give the Dolphins a shot in both the AFC East matchup against the Buffalo Bills and the postseason game at Kansas City, ultimately finishing 10th in the NFL in total defense.
In light of this, the following is our ranking of the top 10 Dolphins defensive plays for the 2023 campaign, which is based on the play’s quality, originality, and impact on the result of a game.
It may seem strange to some, but this was a very smart play by the safety to turn running back Tony Pollard around so the ball would stay out of the end zone, especially since Elliott had no chance of stopping Pollard short of the goal line when he had open space and a blocker in front of him. Additionally, it set up the following play’s fumble recovery, which gave the Dolphins a two-point victory and seven points saved.
