It took them awhile, but it seems like the Toronto Raptors are finally ready to embrace a full rebuild and head into the next era.
They’ve already parted ways with OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam, landing plenty of draft capital and some interesting players in return.
Now, a report by Josh Lewenberg (via Evan Sidery) reveals that the team has made every single player available for trade, except for the recently acquired Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett and franchise cornerstone Scottie Barnes.
Not only is this unsurprising, but it’s also quite fitting.
Masai Ujiri has always been someone difficult to negotiate with, and he’s well-known for overpricing his assets.
This time, however, he’s going to have to meet somewhere in the middle if he’s serious about recouping some assets.
Bruce Brown Jr. could likely get them another first-round pick, as the reigning NBA champion has drawn plenty of interest around the league already.
PF/C Chris Boucher is an intriguing option as a big man, as he can stretch the floor with his shooting skills and also provide some rim protection.
Also, Gary Trent Jr. should find a new home quite easily, as there’s always a big market for 3-and-D players and sharpshooters.
The Raptors have been inconsistent this season, but they could have something special on their hands if they build around Quickley and Barnes, especially if Barrett finally breaks out and lives up to his potential.
