What an excited news for Texas Longhorns

AUSTIN: For the first time since their devastating loss to Washington in the College Football Playoff at the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day, the Texas Longhorns are back on the field.

In the midst of chilly, rainy, and foggy weather in the Austin area on Friday, the team took to the field at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Texas Football posted a brief video of the players practicing on X, the former Twitter platform.

Quinn Ewers, Johntay Cook, Justice Finkley, Barryn Sorrell, Jaylon Guilbeau, C.J. Baxter, Terrance Brooks, David Gbenda, Anthony Hill, Morice Blackwell Jr., 2024 signee Kobe Black, and other prominent players were featured in the video.

By forging a bond over the chilly winter, the Longhorns will keep laying the groundwork for the 2024 team. The NFL departures of players like T’Vondre Sweat, Xavier Worthy, Jaylan Ford, Jonathan Brooks, Adonai Mitchell, Byron Murphy, Ja’Tavion Sanders, Ryan Watts, Keilan Robinson, and Jordan Whittington have left a significant void, even though Texas has many prominent players returning for the upcoming season.

These players were all very important to Texas during that unforgettable season. The Longhorns will require a ton of new players to step up if they hope to return to the CFP for the first 12-team pool the following season.

The Orange-White spring game on Saturday, April 20, is the next significant date for Texas’ offseason.
