According to the Liverpool Echo, Saudi club Al-Ettifaq is now unlikely to sign Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure on transfer deadline day because of his hamstring problems.
On February 1, the reputable news source stated that Sean Dyche values him greatly and that the Toffees are unlikely to let him go.
In his 18 Premier League games this season, the 31-year-old has contributed an assist and six goals.
Since Dyche took over, Doucoure has performed admirably, and the manager won’t want to part with his most valuable player.
He hasn’t just been a very animated presence in the middle of the parkāhe’s also contributed goals and assists.
It is impossible to overstate how important he is to the team since he has also been outstanding at interrupting the opposition’s plans and playing just behind the striker.
Although Saudi leagues lack quality, they more than make up for it financially, which is what draws many players to defect.
Doucoure seemed content to remain at Goodison Park and compete for his position on the team, and there is no sign that this is the case.
It will be interesting to see if an offer is made, but given his recent injury, the chances are much lower.
