David Njoku will always have the Cleveland Browns’ back, no matter what the haters say, and that was on full display when the 27-year-old tight end took exception to Micah Parsons recently.
During a Madden 24 roundtable at the Pro Bowl, Micah Parsons attempted to trash-talk David Njoku with his “Cleveland is Cleveland” remark. The latter didn’t appreciate it, so he shut the former down with his huge clapback.
“One thing you got to understand is that Cleveland is Cleveland, but we’re both here (in the Pro Bowl),” said Njoku. “We’re both here, both playing the Madden Game. You’ve got to make it make sense.”
Why David Njoku has a point about the Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns may have a bad reputation, but David Njoku let Micah Parsons know that the Cleveland Browns have been no different from the Dallas Cowboys in the last few years.
In the last four years, the Cleveland Browns have made two playoff appearances, and they even made it to the division round against the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020. As for the Dallas Cowboys, they’ve had three playoff appearances in the last four years. In that span, they made it past the wild-card round once in 2022 against the San Francisco 49ers.
Both the Dallas Cowboys (12-5) and the Cleveland Browns (11-6) qualified for the NFL playoffs this season, but the Houston Texans and the Green Bay Packers eliminated them in the wild-card round, respectively.
David Njoku is fresh from a career season
Although the banter between David Njoku and Micah Parsons is not that serious, seeing this from the tight end is a welcome moment for Cleveland Browns supporters.
This season, David Njoku is coming off his best individual campaign to date, recording a career-best 81 receptions for 882 receiving yards and six touchdowns. In the playoffs against the Houston Texans, the first-time Pro Bowler had seven receptions for 159 receiving yards.
