Bad news for stoke city;Injury report

This weekend, Stoke City will return to action in the Championship when they travel to Ewood Park to play Blackburn Rovers.

After suffering an injury recently, Laurent, 28, is getting closer to making a comeback to the field.

According to the club’s official website, Schumacher has given this update on his condition: “We have Josh back in training with the main group, which is another positive sign, but Saturday might be too soon for him.” Josh is a popular figure in the locker room and a talented player.

We need everyone to be pulling in the same direction, and he is a big player for us, so it will be crucial to have him back in the matchday squads as soon as possible.

This season, Laurent has made 25 appearances for Stoke across all competitions, 22 of which have been in the league, and he has two goals to his credit.

The London player still has more than a year left on his Bet365 Stadium contract, which finishes in the summer of 2025.

He became a regular for the Potters in the middle of the park after joining them in 2022. In thirty-four games in his debut season, he scored five goals.

Before making his initial move up north in 2016, Laurent was a young player for Chelsea, QPR, Brentford, and Wycombe Wanderers.
His tenures at Shrewsbury and Reading were preceded by periods at Hartlepool United and Wigan Athletic.

He was brought in by Stoke to increase their alternatives in the midfield, and he has been a valuable addition.

Returning him to the scene will help them as they attempt to move up the table. The Potters’ last game was a 5-0 home loss to Leicester City.

After joining Alex Neil at Plymouth Argyle, Schumacher made an immediate impression. But lately, the team has struggled to find success, so this Saturday’s matchup versus Blackburn is crucial.

Only four points separate Stoke, who are ranked 20th in the table, from the relegation zone.
