Yankees super star retires suddenly

According to Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com, Corey Kluber announced his retirement from baseball on Friday.

Throughout his 13-year MLB career, the right-hander played for nine seasons with Cleveland, where he was a three-time All-Star. In addition, he became the organization’s only two-time Cy Young winner.

Kluber played for the Rangers, Yankees, Rays, and Red Sox during the last four years of his career. Kluber struck out 42 batters in 55 innings during his 15 appearances (nine starts) in 2023 with Boston, with a 7.04 ERA. He was a member of the Red Sox rotation to begin the season, but he eventually moved into the bullpen.

The 37-year-old Kluber only made 16 starts while playing for the Yankees in 2021, missing a portion of the campaign due to a shoulder issue. However, Kluber’s no-hitter against the Rangers was the highlight of his stay in New York.

In the latter stages of his career, Kluber struggled with arm problems. He also spent time on the disabled list in 2023 because to inflammation in his right shoulder.
