According to reports, Manchester United and Tottenham are making “more than most” efforts to capture Everton center-back Jarrad Branthwaite.
Erik ten Hag has made the 21-year-old his top priority for this summer. As part of a significant shake-up that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are planning, it is thought that United are eager to add two young center backs at the end of the current campaign.
Any offer’s magnitude will probably depend on Everton’s league standing, since they are currently in 18th place after losing points earlier in the campaign.
Branthwaite was a vital starter for the Toffees this season after spending the previous campaign on loan at PSV Eindhoven. The Daily Mail claims that Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Chelsea have all made inquiries over the England under-21 defender.
The’most concerted attempt’ is reportedly being made at this point by United and Spurs, despite interest from other teams. According to the report, however, United ‘do not have tunnel vision on Branthwaite’ and may instead target other center-backs, including Antonio Silva of Benfica, Jean-Clair Todibo at Nice, and Leny Yoro of Lille.

Additionally, according to Turkish publication Aksam, United will dispatch a scout to observe Kerem Akturkoglu during Galatasaray’s Europa League match against Sparta Prague on Thursday. The Turkey international is reportedly attracting interest from United, who will now watch him play.
Akturkoglu had participated in a Champions League match against United last year. He scored in both the 3-3 tie in Istanbul and the 3-2 victory away at Old Trafford. Galatasaray is expected to pay substantial transfer fees for Kerem, Baris Yilmaz, and Abdulkerim Bardakci during the summer transfer window, according to the report.
Kerem has been playing for Galatasaray and has put up remarkable numbers, with nine goals and six assists in 24 Super Lig games. Leeds United expressed interest in signing the 25-year-old during the January transfer window.
