Texas offers QBs in the 2026 class the first two picks.

Which quarterbacks earn offers is the most significant choice made in a recruiting class, especially when it comes from a renowned quarterback development like Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian.

After Alabama prospect KJ Lacey committed in the 2025 recruiting class, Sarkisian and his staff extended up to 60 offers in the 2026 cycle. On Wednesday, the first two quarterback offers were made, to Troy Huhn of San Marcos, California, and Jared Curtis of Nashville, Tennessee’s Nashville Christian School.

Sarkisian personally made both of the offers.

Curtis is ranked as the top quarterback in the 247Sports Composite rankings and the top recruit overall by 247Sports. This is typical for quarterback prospects of his caliber, since he is already quite mature in the spring of his sophomore year.

Curtis, a 6’4″, 225-pound athlete, has received over 30 offers from prestigious universities around the country. His current top options are Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. Curtis just visited Oregon on an unofficial basis.
